Parent and Toddler Group

With New Elite Gymnastics having their own premises it has always been our intention to bring a richer timetable of classes through the day. We now have a daily parent and toddler group which runs Monday to Friday 10.00am until 11.15am.

For busy parents and guardians with young children to look after, having an hour or so to let the children play in a safe environment whilst providing excellent child development activities can make a big difference to the day. For a chance to socialise and meet new parents plus take advantage of our safe and exciting gymnastics environment it is well worth trying us out.

Sole Circle Progressions

We are getting quite a few gymnasts to begin to train this move and apparently it is as much fun as it looks.

New Elite Display Clun Festival Aug 6th 2011

Well done to those gymnasts that displayed their talent at the recent Clun Festival. After the total washout with the weather last year Jill was determined to give it another go this year. The weather certainly was playing its cards close to its chest and kept us guessing right up to our 1st display. It went brilliantly with well executed group routines, individual routines and vault and trampette sessions.

A really good crowd cheered everyone on and the festival goers really did seem to enjoy themselves. The gymnasts were all smiles when the display was finished. Unfortunately the 2nd session had to be cancelled as it did then rain and the equipment got wet (gymnastics is not really an outdoor sport!). But at least we got our 1st session in and it was all really worth the effort.

Thanks to the gymnasts for the hard training they put in and also thanks to the parents that attended and gave their support. New Elite continually strives to provide our gymnasts with the opportunity to compete and also to take part in other activities such as festivals like Clun and Cockshutt.

We'll be looking to do more displays in the future so if anyone knows of festivals in Shropshire that might be suitable please contact us.

New Elite Gymnastics Display 4th June 2011

We will be taking a group of gymnasts to do a display at the Cockshutt Village Fayre on Saturday June 4th @ 3pm. We will be showing some vaulting, some group floor routines, some individual routines and some tumbling and cheerleading amongst other things.

We are planning to do some “master classes” where we will be focusing on just one or two pieces of equipment. Likely to be on some Sunday(s) in the near future so listen out for more on that.

Vault Demo at New Elite Gymnastics

We hope to bring some bits of video onto our website and blog to help give people an idea of what New Elite Gymnastics is all about. We will be the first to admit that we are not professional movie makers but hopefully as time goes on we can improve and regularly add to our video collection.

Suffice to say that New Elite Gymnastics is only going to show gymnasts that have the express permission of parents or guardians to be on the video.

Some Pictures of the New Premises

As most of you will know we have been busy getting things ready for the opening of our new premises on the 18th April 2011. We have come quite a long way since we got the go ahead for using Unit 8 Benbow Park. When we first walked in the door we had a big challenge to get it into shape and be the gymnasium we all wanted. We are almost there now and thought you would like to see a very small number of pictures we have available.

Just a couple of pictures of the inside taken this weekend after a big team effort to get the equipment transferred over from the Grange Sports Centre.

As you can see we have set up our competition standard bars complete with brand new crash mats with plenty of space for comfortable dismounting for even the most advanced of gymnasts. We also have our full sized beam plus the smaller training beams.

The inside of our unit is approx 2,000 sq ft and we have covered the whole of the floor with carpet and then on top of that a layer of mats that covers a lot of the floor space. A safe and very functional gymnastics area for all our gymnasts.

Also you can see our trampette and our table vault plus we have access to the box vault that means our competition gymnasts that need to practice on this can do so.
